Description

Improvement?
:iconrapsodine:

Name: Cyrion
Species: Naga
Age: 24 ish ~
Gender: Male
Height: Normally stands about 5'9'' above ground
Nation: Etryian Conglomerate

Occupation:  [-Living of some poor souls like a bum-]
Speciality Job: Bounty Hunter/Mercenary, Arms Master, Alchemist
Guilds [None so far]

Personality: Cyrion generally comes off with a sly and self centred nature, and does little effort to convince you otherwise.
Despite being a fairly good liar, he lie in most casual settings and does not attempt to hide his stories being untrue.
Not believing in general kindness without a reason, he find it hard to trust others and tend to only strike up friendships where he finds a mutual goal is in place. The rarity of these situations does however make him pretty persistent once he consider someone close, displaying an incredible loyalty when needed.

As of the moment he is stuck between the streams of events unfolding in Rapsodine. Having few goals of his own, nor anyone he want to trust enough to follow, Cyrion find himself without a clear direction of his life. Although he can only blame himself for this, seeing the days pass by without much taking place feeds a growing irritation with his current situation, and leaves him feeling the world turned its back to him.
All his pre-justice aside, Cyrion is generally hard to anger intentionally, and rarely ever gets upset over anything personal. When he does, he always remain in control and keep to the verbal spectrum of venting it out. The exception being if it involves a person of authority where he'll hide it completely as he won't even dare to bark.
When Cyrion have nothing better to do you'll usually find him lurking in some shadow, just watching people strive on with their daily lives, as he lacks the social abilities and general mindset to strike of a conversation with someone.

Likes: Sunny humid days, rain on salt water, places with dim lighting and chatting voices.
Dislikes: Snow, working with dependant people, loud voices, people who are generally kind, and then finally: stairs.

History:
Little is known of Cyrion's origins, as the snake himself seem reluctant to share, and in the few cases he do tell the stories never adds up.
If you look the right places you might however find a description similar to his circulating older circles with connections to the old slave trade, but few know something and none can say for certain.

What shown so far:
Cyrions official comic story starts at the Alluvian ball. After a conflict, he had decided to cut ties with his old connections, and the public event opened for a great way to meet a world he had never seen before, even allowing him to hide his identity for the night.
From there events kept in his favour: The construction of the wall, with the Monsoon alliance’s plan to bring it down, opened a chance for him to join the ranks of his nation, and take part in something bigger, and soon he was following the flow.
The Monsoon alliance coming out victorious, he joined his people in their festive celebrations, before following the army to fight in the attack on the islands located between E.C. and Erionok. This despite noticing the split intentions, as news of the enemy attacking smaller cities was enough to divide their force, and keep the remaining one uneasy.

That is however where things turned.
Soon news of the other battle reached the island. Claiming the end of the war with a new alliance forming.
Unlike many battle worn soldiers who now could go home, Cyrion did not have anywhere calling him. Instead he felt what little purpose he had started to grow found of being lost, and spent the return trip pondering on what meaning the war really had for the leaders as they would toss it aside for a small minority on an ever shifting scale. Not being able to find an answer, these thoughts eventually brewed distrust as any speculation on where things went wrong ended up placing blame on the first weakness in the strategy he could find.
As the spiral went on it soon grew a resent that remained oblivious to any new imput or reason.

Hoping to find a solution to the questions and doubts lingering in his head, he went to seek out the one place he knew he could rest, rather than going to help the people of Arranudo.

Strengths: Cyrion's strength comes from his sharp instincts as well as his careful nature. Combined with being more of a natural improviser than a careful planner, he usually manages to turn most situations to his favour before they get completely out of hands.
It is also worth to note he have an impressive amount of self-control, and is a fluent in the language of a silver-tongued if just given enough reason to be serious about it.
Combat wise, Cyrion invest all his talent as well as physical advantages into stealth, giving off neither sound nor a presence that is easily detected.

Weaknesses: With his torso being physically weak compared to most mythical creatures and almost all abilities invested in one path, the moment the situation slip out of his hands he will be fully exposed and vulnerable, and can only rely on his surroundings to recover.
Without proper planning or the landscape being of help, his colour is also also painfully visible on most surfaces.

Alternate forms:

Let's slit and talk:
As a Naga, Cyrion is a snake able to change his upper body to that of a human. Doing so also increases his size and eyesight, at the cost of his normal more snake like senses being dulled slightly.

From sea to land:
Although mostly residing as a water snake, Cyrion seem to be able to fully take the shape of a sea snake, giving him prolonged ability to stay submerged, along with better movability in water. The downside is a weaker hide, not to mention the loss of movability on land where exposure to air will after prolonged periods of time dry him up. Quite the sad way to go? Cyrion most certainly think so, as he thereby only use the form when he risks are close to zero.

Combat Skills

Aggressive:

First strike: Like his snake brethren, the enormous amount of muscles in his long tail allows him to strike out at great speed from a coiled up position. Achieving a speed hard to dodge.
This skill is used in both forms, although Cyrion rarely attacks with his snake form as it is small and very vulnerable if there are several opponents.

Toxic bite: Like other sea snakes his bite is venomous and with a highly potent venom, made to function even when thinned out in water. The poison itself have components, working with the intent of shutting down nerves. Though it have paralytic effects, its main objective is to shut down important nerves permanently and taking out vital organs.
Though capable, Cyrion don't bite in his humanoid form.

That extra sting: Adding poison to his blade usually helps taking down tougher opponents.

Magic: Beside what is invested in his shape shifting, Cyrion have little talent for magic.
Surprisingly, his mana pool is not bellow average as it is constantly used; the issue residing in his lack of training and ability to control an element.
- His mana naturally lean toward the element of ice, which for the snake is a two-edged sword.

Take to the seas: Allows Cyrion to gain the rudder-like tail and the other features of a full sea snake.

Passives:

Keener senses: Especially in regards for his sense of smell, and the fact that he's able to sense heat.
As a snake his heat range doubles, which is a massive difference, considering this is unaffected by the fact his form grows smaller.

Poison resistance: Shows extremely good resistance to poison.
- If the dosage is great enough it will affect him, but if you try to poison him and hope he'll die on his own given enough time, you are sadly mistaken.

Child of the sea: Though Cyrion cannot breathe under water, as a sea snake he can hold his breath for over two hours, where one hour is that of his humanoid form.
Respectfully, his land forms can hold their breath 15 and 7 min.
Do note he can not hold his breath if he immediately change form as he enter the water, as it is required to stay in the water so his form can properly adapt to the element. If anything, the change alone will usually use up the breath in his lungs.

Water heritage: Although the venom Cyrion produces is hard to distinguish from that of a normal snake with no sign of magical attributes, it seem to be much more damaging for creatures that are normally weak to water.

Inventory

Armor

none of particular value

Weapon

Steel Glaive: ??? When did the snake pick up a spear like weapon?? He seems to have practised with it before, but his skills still barely make it to decent.

Dagger: Cyrions main weapon, and one he have lived by for many years. Although he seems to have trained dual wield, he never carry more than one dagger at hand. This particular dagger seem pretty worn, and holds a special meaning for the snake.

Needles: (Will be added when shop updates) A weapon Cyrion carry, but rarely use. Though he know how to throw them, he'd rather poke people, as he's not yet too familiar with their weight nor trust his abilities to find them again. Mostly poison dipped to replace his knife in places where a dagger is easily spotted.

Poision: Usually carries smaller sacks of poison strapped to himself, to easily apply to weapons when an opponent gets a bit on the thought side. Though its main component is his own venom, it is mixed with a lot of other ingredients for a better calculated effect.
He does however stock up on different kinds whenever possible as well. [see: carried items]

Enchanted Accessories

Enchanted seashell: Made to play the melody of the ocean whenever you hold it to your ear.
Octopus mask: Something he picked up for the ball, and still holds on to. Will make the wearer's body seem like it is made of water when put on.

Mundane Magical Items

Bag of Holding Minor: Always worn. Used for items he want to bring but don't need immediate access to.

Pets:

Sashimi:
Deep Sea Glow Fins; A glowing fish in a water tank.
Personality: ??? This fish looks at you. Judging. But it's so small. And cute?
Cyrion originally won the fish in a game during the festive nights of E.C, thinking it an easy snack. However, the lady at the boot was not too impressed with this and gave the white snake a good scolding. As a result, Cyrion kept Sashimi for later, but never really got to try again.
Believably the first pet Cyrion have ever had, he seems to have reserved a special spot for the fish.
Uses: As Cyrion lacks the mount the fish was intended a decoration for, Sashimi doesn't even live up to its intended usage. Instead, the naga have hung the glass bowl on a pole, using the glowing fish as a portable light. Cyrion does however rarely, if ever, take Sashimi with him when he's out running errands.

Iniko: A fully trained white Plainstrider.
Personality: Prideful with a hint of aggressive tendencies towards strangers. Does however become very submissive around Cyrion.
Unlike Sashimi, Cyrion bought Iniko for the purpose of assisting him, mainly scouting out for danger. His pride in the birds uses aside, he does not treat the bird with much love, seeing it more of something practical than a living being with feelings.
Uses: Combat pet, scout
Attacks:
Wind Blast: Combative Attack, Attacks target with large blasts of wind dealing moderate damage and stunning target for 10 seconds
Serene Song: Combat Assistance, Puts the target to sleep for 45 seconds
Scout: Trained to scout ahead informing Rangers of dangers and/or of missing people.
Water Walk: Able to run across water without sinking, can carry small sized creatures while doing so limits ability to fly.

Fun facts and all between:

- His sea forms shows a lot more frequent markings than the land forms.
- Gestures a lot with his arms when he speaks. Usually with wide yet slowly phased movements. (This habit grows worse the more comfortable he is in the situation)
- To make up for a lack of patter Cyrion usually paint one on when needed. If bored he might however paint more random markings to pass the time.
- Although Cyrion seems to have some bitter unspoken feelings toward the nation of Arranudo after the sudden end of the war, he never seemed keen on going there in the first place. The reasons as to why are unknown.

Relationships:

Sashimi: Why is a fish on this list?
Eli Damero:
A Centaur, and a illegal immigrant to E.C who runs a little shady bar in Hydreon. Being the closest thing Cyrion have to a friend, Cyrion tend to stick around being annoying whenever he have the chance.
Miss Pirate ??: ????
Hakishou Hanori: Some will see soon.

EDIT: Special thanks to Lemia-Dizao and Yaramazara for helping me with this update in sense of naming and red-line. Last but not least there were also Capn-Mauru who was ever so kind to pose for me; helping me get the hand right. :)
